Runarouuuuuuud ... Now! This week down Brit Grit Alley I interview Middlesbrough born songwriter, author and poet Alan Savage about his latest project THE TEESIDE VERSES, and some other stuff, like.

PDB: Can you pitch THE TEESIDE VERSES in 25 words or less? 

AS: A journey with words, a good ride, sometimes bumpy, always fun. No regrets. 

PDB: Which music, books, films or television shows have floated your boat recently? 

AS: The xx - co-exist. Good album. Book: Dark Matter - Michelle Paver - Film - Watched 'Dirty Harry' for the umpteenth time. 

PDB: Is it possible for a writer to be an objective reader?

AS:Yes, why not? 

PDB Do you have any interest in writing for films, theatre or television? 

AS: How much will it pay? 

PDB:  How much research goes into your writing? 

AS: I researched my brain for thoughts and memories for 'TheTeesside Verses'. 

PDB: How useful or important are social media for you? 

AS: It's important. But I could live without it. The modern day curse is that anyone can contact you any time. Sometimes I want to be invisible. And alone. 

PDB: What’s on the cards for 2013? 

AS: Get my quirk-punk funk band together. Possibly die my hair. Possibly start to give a damn.
