Our Gutter Publication Schedule Starting June 2019
A lot of fine magazines are publishing good stories. So we wish to take a moment and thank everyone for the generous time you spend reading at The Gutter.
While we’re writers not accountants, in-between
burying bodies, bleaching bloodstains and maintaining the weapons in our
munitions locker, we’ve noticed most people don’t have a chance to read our
posts the first week they appear.
Knowing people’s time is precious and
since we don’t wish to wear anyone out by publishing too much content,
beginning in June 2019 we will publish two fiction stories monthly rather than
a tale every week (with the hopeful historical exceptions of October and
December). Whenever possible we’ll also aim to publish non-fiction content on
weeks when fiction stories don’t appear.
For writers hoping to see their work
published at The Gutter in 2019, we encourage you to submit sooner rather than
later. We’ve presently accepted stories through the first half of August—and
we’re looking to fill our schedule quickly. As a Christmas present to writers,
we’re willing to publish up to 12 stories in December: however the submissions
deadline is Monday, November
4, 2019. Unlike the fine and competent
folks at Shotgun Honey we will NOT be
reading any submissions during the month of December. We anticipate making
Submissions Calls and sharing the Special-but-optional submissions parameters
for October and December stories soon.
